Juventus Hand New Deals To Allegri And Marchisio

Juventus won the Italian league and Italian cup last season, whilst also reaching the Champions League final where they lost 3-1 to Barcelona. In what was Allegri’s first season in charge of the Italian club known as the Old Lady. He was under pressure as soon as he arrived in Turin after Antonio Conte had guided them to three successive championships.

Contract extension for Allegri

Allegri had two years remaining on his Juventus contract that he signed when appointed the manager in July 2014, has been handed a year extension to that contract, following a successful first season. Allegri took over from Conte after he had resigned to the take Italian national coach’s job.

Juventus fans didn’t take to Allegri at first, as his previous job had been with Juventus rivals AC Milan. Allegri though won them over by guided them to a four successive league title and also winning the Italian cup. The first time since 1995 that Juventus had won the trophy.

Juventus weren’t seen as one of the favourites for the Champions League, but Allegri guided them to the final, knocking out the holders Real Madrid in semi-finals before losing to Barcelona in the final. Allegri will be looking to build on his first year of success with the Old Lady.

New deal for long serving midfielder

Juventus have also handed a new five-year contract to long-serving midfielder Marchisio, keeping him ties to his boyhood heroes until 2020. Marchisio born in Turin, his family were Juventus supporters and season ticket holders. Marchisio has been at the club from age of seven and came through the Juventus youth team.

He made his breakthrough into the first-team in 2006/07 season, apart from one season away from the club the following season, which he spent on loan at Empoli. Marchisio has been an ever-present in the Juventus first-team under several different. Partly due to his versatility to play in a number of positions across the midfield.
